Job Title: Hourly Maintenance Technician - Hatchery

Job Overview: The Hourly Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems in the hatchery. This role ensures that the facility operates efficiently and safely, with minimal downtime, to support production goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Maintenance:

Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on hatchery equipment, including incubators, hatchers, conveyors, pumps, HVAC systems, and water systems.Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly to minimize downtime.

2. System Operations:

Monitor and maintain operational systems such as ventilation, temperature control, and water quality to ensure optimal conditions for chick production.Calibrate and adjust equipment to meet hatchery standards and specifications.

3. Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and repair electrical systems, motor controls, and automated machinery.Respond to equipment failures and emergencies, providing timely solutions to restore operations.

4. Safety Compliance:

Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks.Maintain compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

5. Record-Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.Update maintenance logs and provide reports as needed to supervisors.

6. Facility Upkeep:

Perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, and facility repairs.Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the maintenance shop and work areas.

7. Team Collaboration:

Work closely with hatchery personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to operations.Provide feedback on equipment performance and suggest improvements for maintenance processes.

8. Emergency Response:

Be available for on-call shifts to address urgent maintenance issues during non-standard work hours.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Previous maintenance experience in an industrial, agricultural, or manufacturing environment preferred.

· Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

· Good communication and teamwork skills.

· Willingness to work in hatchery conditions, which may include high humidity, temperature variations, and exposure to dust and odors.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods.

· Capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

· Flexibility to bend, stoop, and reach to perform maintenance activities.

Work Schedule:

· Hourly position with potential for overtime.

· May include weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed
