At Pilgrim’s, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first - always.   Primary Role: Industrial Mechanic Mechanic will safely and efficiently perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and all tasks related to the maintenance of all feed mill equipment and facility. Typical tasks include troubleshooting and repairing components, testing, and working with production team members.   ________________________________________ Description/Job Summary  This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining all aspects of the feed mill facility. Scheduled to work Monday - Friday from 7am-3:30pm, and weekends as needed. Responsible for on call duties as required and all found problems repaired before finishing shift.   Responsibilities/Duties Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and componentsIdentify parts or machines needing new or replacement partsUtilize shop mathematics to complete assignmentsInterpret drawings of equipment in order to properly adjust, maintain or repair machineryRespond to requests by production area when mechanical issues with equipment have been identifiedCommunicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and to determine potential mechanical problemsPerform preventive maintenanceComplete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency, in regards to time as well as resourcesOther duties as assignedOperate fork lifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts  Required Skills/Qualifications  Reading, General Math and Writing Skills.Organized and able to multi-task.Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of standard and metric measurementsMinimum 1-2 years industrial maintenance experienceKnowledge of industrial manufacturing equipmentGeneral knowledge of welding/fabricationGeneral knowledge of both low and high voltage electricalAbility to work overtime including, holidays, nights, and weekend shiftsAt least 18 years of ageLegally authorized to work in the United StatesWilling and able to stand for several hours.Ability to work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc. with use of PPEAbility to work in elevated areasAbility to perform physical job duties including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodations  Preferred Knowledge/Skills General knowledge of boilers/steam systemsGeneral knowledge with programming technologies, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and variable frequency drives (VFD)Technical school preferred.High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
