PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the Supervisor, Maintenance, you will be responsible for ensuring the flawless maintenance and repairs of our intermodal chassis and container fleet, while strictly adhering to industry regulations and environmental policies.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Scheduling maintenance and CVI inspections for the intermodal chassis fleet. Scheduling maintenance, repairs, and retirement on the container fleet. Ensuring maintenance and repairs are performed in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations, AAR Rules & Regulations, Federal & Provincial Laws of Canada. Ensuring adherence to the company’s environmental policies and proper disposal of waste. Ensuring contractors have the required experience, qualifications, and licenses to perform their duties. Investigating damage claims to improve work procedures and minimize equipment damage. Handling intent to claim for damage recovery by third-party companies. Ensuring contractors follow safety guidelines. Processing maintenance-related invoices and auditing as required. Collaborating with Maintenance Managers, Asset Management, and Supply Services on asset strategies and RFP proposals.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Post-Secondary Certificate or Degree related to Mechanical Maintenance is desirable. Strong Mechanical background. Journey Man Certification in Maintenance of Road or Off-road equipment is desirable. Management or Supervisor experience in Maintenance of equipment required, minimum of 2 years. Understanding of Intermodal Operations or trucking logistics is desirable. Computer skills – Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Access, SAP, Oasis, TMS, Power Point. Familiar with Commercial Vehicle inspection regulations. Understanding of Standard maintenance procedures of Heavy Equipment is desirable. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with contractor supervisors, personnel, and all CPR employees. Potential to maintain healthy communication relationships with the various suppliers.

Management Conductor Program:
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
