The Opportunity:

Smurfit Westrock Mahrt mill operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week to meet quality production standards.  The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties, in such a manner that maintains safe working conditions, maximum production, world class maintenance procedures, quality standards, preservation of equipment capacity, and investment capital.  

What you need to succeed:

Understanding of and experience with reading drawings, Bills of Materials, parts identification, planning and schedulingDetermine work procedures to assemble, dismantle and overhaul machinery and equipmentWork with a wide variety of precision toolsPerform a variety of maintenance related tasks in connection with the maintenance, repair and/or improvement of equipmentAble to troubleshoot, PM, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsLaser aligns equipment, rebuild pumps, change machine bearings, operate cutting torch, weld plate and pipe, safely troubleshoot and repair hydraulic components, etc.Expertise with common paper mill equipment/components such as: conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, rolls bearings, seals, chains, sprockets, couplings, cylinders, valves, etc.Operate equipment such as hoists, cranes, fork-lifts, welding machines, burning rigs, etc.

What you need to succeed:

Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency diplomaMust successfully pass company administered assessments3+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (preferred)Demonstrated the drive to achieve and have upward movement in various jobsSelf-motivated desire to learnCapable of meeting physical requirements to include working weekends/holidays, around heat, noise, work inside/outside, etc.Has the mechanical, mathematical, and verbal aptitude to learn positionsProven record of performanceBe able to work well with others, understanding all rules and regulations that are associated with this facilityAble to complete and submit an employment application onlineAble to operate in heavy manufacturing site and work variable schedule and overtime as needed.
