Maintenance Lead Truro, NS

Our client is a North American supplier of food and beverage products for the industrial, retail and foodservice sectors, and also is responsible for a number of its own consumer brands and products. We are looking for a Maintenance Lead who either has a Red Seal Industrial Electrician ticket, Red Seal Industrial Mechanic ticket, or another relevant trades ticket. Successful candidates will have a strong knowledge of plant computerized maintenance management systems is required, and previous experience as a lead hand or supervising maintenance teams is an asset. The Maintenance Lead will analyze causes of breakdowns, propose and experiment with solutions to address those causes in order to minimize downtime. The Maintenance Lead will have a passion for systemic solutions and the ability to be proactive!

This individual will be required to perform all facets of general maintenance in a food manufacturing environment. This will include: Owning the preventative maintenance systems for the production line, focusing on defect handling and breakdown elimination, and later maintenance planning and scheduling. Supporting the development, and lead portions, of 90-Day loss-elimination plans. Coaching and developing Production and Maintenance Teams on shift by serving as technical coach and resource. Driving improvements in repair and maintenance costs, reducing downtime of machinery, efficiency of planned maintenance

The incumbent must be capable of working in a fast-paced team-oriented processing and manufacturing environment and have a strong commitment to best practices in health and safety.  Ideally someone who has an amazing attitude, is great at problem solving, and is open learning and working in a modernized and progressive environment.
