A Maintenance Manager with Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts is ultimately responsible for all maintenance issues within the hotel to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while repairing equipment and overseeing the maintenance team.

What will I be doing

\n

As a Maintenance Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the hotel's facilities, equipment, and systems are in top operational condition. A Maintenance Manager is responsible for all maintenance issues within the hotel, performing maintenance checks, and overseeing the maintenance team to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. 

\n

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\nLead and oversee the daily engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring seamless functionality of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, HVAC, and general infrastructure.\nEnsure all hotel areas, including guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house, and external property, are well maintained and meet the highest safety and operational standards.\nDevelop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and prolong equipment lifespan.\nManage emergency maintenance requests promptly to ensure guest satisfaction and operational continuity.\nConduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards.\nEnsure full compliance with local building codes, health & safety regulations, and fire safety standards.\nDevelop and oversee emergency response procedures, including fire evacuation plans and lift emergency release protocols.\nLiaise with government and regulatory bodies to ensure all statutory requirements and inspections are met.\nImplement and enforce workplace safety protocols for both employees and guests.\nDevelop and manage energy conservation programs to enhance efficiency and minimize costs.\nPrepare, manage, and oversee capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational maintenance budgets.\n

A Maintenance Manager serving Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

\n\nBachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.\nMinimum 5+ years of experience in hotel maintenance management, preferably in a luxury 5-star property.\nAdvanced knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.\nExperience with building automation systems and energy management.\nExceptional leadership and team management skills.\nAbility to multitask, prioritize, and troubleshoot efficiently.\nStrong understanding of health & safety regulations and hotel industry standards.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nProficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office.\nAbility to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergencies when required.\nExposure to budgeting and basic accounting\nPositive attitude\nGood communication skills\nCommitted to delivering a high level of customer service\nStrong leadership skills and previous experience of managing a team\nExcellent grooming standards\nFlexibility to respond to a range of different work situations\nAbility to work under pressure\nAbility to work on their own\nPrevious experience of facilities management\nProficient, at an advanced level, with computers and relevant computer programs\n\n
