The Role at a glance:
We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our Traditions team in Pearl, MS. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the plant projects and maintenance functions within the facility. This role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians and maintenance supervisors to ensure optimal performance of all plant equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in engineering principles, experience in food manufacturing, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing: Lead and mentor a team of maintenance staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing feedback and developing training programs to enhance team skills. Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Oversee all maintenance activities, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs efficiently. Manage engineering projects related to equipment upgrades, installations, and process improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement engineering solutions that enhance plant performance. Ensure adherence to safety regulations and practices, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions. Monitor compliance with quality standards, ensuring that all engineering processes meet regulatory requirements. Prepare and manage the engineering and maintenance budget, advocating for necessary resources and cost-saving initiatives. Analyze costs associated with maintenance and engineering projects, identifying opportunities for efficiencies. Drive process improvements through the application of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies. Act as a liaison between the maintenance team and plant operations, ensuring clear communication and alignment on goals and priorities. Regularly report on engineering performance and initiatives to management. What we're looking for: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in engineering and or maintenance management, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and manufacturing processes. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to machinery and equipment. May require occasional travel, overtime and on-call availability for emergencies.
