Maintenance Manager
Weyerhaeuser’s Elkin, NC Panels manufacturing facility is seeking a Maintenance Manager to be an integral member of the site leadership team. As the Maintenance Manager, you will develop and lead all maintenance initiatives at the facility, including equipment safety, maximizing machine productivity and uptime, as well as the condition and upkeep of the facility. This is a full-time, exempt position that reports directly to the Mill Manager and is a member of the Elkin Leadership Team. This position will spend time in both an office setting and operational setting which may include hot, cold, wet, dry, dusty, and humid conditions in a wood products OSB manufacturing environment. This position may periodically require extended or varied hours to accomplish tasks and provide support to the mill. This opportunity is suitable for those with passion for Maintenance Leadership with the potential for future opportunities in Reliability, Engineering, Projects and Mill Leadership. *Key Functions* * The Maintenance Manager is accountable for: * Managing preventative & predictive maintenance/process reliability, improvement of key performance indicators, continuous improvement of maintenance functions, and department spend management * Leading a maintenance team comprised of area leaders, planners, PLC technicians and 30 plus Maintenance Technicians in a high-performance team-based environment * Development and training of team including skill development, apprenticeships, succession planning, mentoring and performance management * Participating in capital projects from planning through execution * Supporting, maintaining, and improving processes associated with the computerized mill maintenance (CMMS) systems for equipment reliability * Being a significant contributor to overall leadership of the Elkin mill. * Passion for safety with demonstrated caring and understanding of what it takes to be injury free * Demonstrated development of safety processes for Maintenance or Operations * Track record of consistently demonstrating leadership skills that align to Weyerhaeuser core values of safety, integrity, citizenship, sustainability and inclusion * Proven experience in developing teams and skillsets of team members * Excellent interpersonal, written verbal and electronic communication skills * At least 7 years of experience working in a manufacturing/industrial environment * Experience in direct management/supervision * *Knowledge of and practical application experience in: * o PLCs and AC Motors o Reading technical drawings and schematics o Development and management of budgets, work schedules and training plans o Reliability centered maintenance principles and practices o Fluid mechanics * Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes * Able to manage multiple priorities * Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance methods * Experience in root cause analysis and troubleshooting * Ability to understand issues and develop maintenance and engineering solutions to resolve manufacturing challenges * Demonstrated success in achieving business and unit goals * Computer skills with basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook * Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, such as climbing stairs, working from heights, and working in extreme heat or cold * Flexible to support a 24/7 operation, which includes anytime response support and weekend/holiday work as required *Preferred Qualifications* * Maintenance Leadership experience * Knowledge of the OSB manufacturing process * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering * Technical school diploma(s) * Application and knowledge of LEAN manufacturing tools * Experience with SAP *About Wood Products* We've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years. We want you to choose us. *Compensation:* This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $106,900 to $160,400 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 15% of base pay.
