FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs and has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Manager at one of our Detroit, MI locations. The Maintenance Manager supervises and coordinates activities of production workers and workers engaged in repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties

Summary Responsibilities:

Confer with yard personnel and plans and allocates the use of materials handling equipment such as mobile equipment, plant equipment and other parts and fluidsKeep records of service parts received and usedInitiate purchase orders for parts and equipmentInspect incoming parts and verify invoicesInterpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulationsInterpret job orders to workers and assigns dutiesEstablish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedulesSuggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of yard, departments, or work crewAnalyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problemsMaintain time and production records and may perform activities of workers supervisedConfer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departmentsAssist with day-to-day safety and production meetingsAssist with scheduling outbound material to vendors

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GEDPrevious supervisor experienceProficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)Excellent customer oral and written communication skillsProblem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-makingCollaborative; builds and works with teamsAbility to coach and mentorPre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required
