Maintenance Manager
Description

Maintenance Manager   The Maintenance Manager oversees the day-to-day functions of mechanics, bus washers, utility workers, and administrative staff members. Maintenance facilities typically operate on a three-shift basis to ensure that maintenance on equipment is completed; tests and inspections of products, services, and processes to evaluate quality or performance of that equipment are accomplished; and specifications are met to DOT, client, or company standards. This position is based in Forest Park, GA.   Transdev is proud to offer: Competitive compensation package of $85,000 - $90,000   Benefits include: Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks Sick days: 5 days Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, and voluntary long-term disability.  Key Responsibilities Schedules employees for the department; ensures the effective supervision of mechanics and other shop workers; may administer collective bargaining agreement provisions.Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned personnel.Coordinates work performed by outside vendors.Oversees the development of efficient repair schedules, reviews repair cost estimates.Approves priority of maintenance and repairs based on availability of materials and parts and requirements of scheduled operations.Helps to ensure that company and client equipment is maintained and operating efficiently.Controls and monitor’s inventory.Ensures that all vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and properly working.Develops and implements safety policies and procedures for the department; maintains a safe working environment.Participates in the development and administration of the operational budget.Identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods.Ensures that property, grounds, and facilities are clean and well organized.QualificationsEducation, Licensing, and Certifications:High school diploma or equivalent, such as GEDMust be age 21 or olderMust possess a Commercial Driving License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsementsAppropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferredMaster Mechanic certification preferredExperience:7 years or more of progressively responsible experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of heavy duty automotive and transit equipment including at least 3 years of supervisory experienceSkills and Knowledge Required:  Good written and oral communication skillsBroad understanding of all mechanical systems related to heavy duty transportation vehiclesFamiliarity with laws/regulations associated with the safe operation of maintenance facilitiesAbility to read, interpret and apply documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Ability to read blue prints, schematics, and other mechanical and/or electrical diagramsAbility to read and write routine reports, forms, and other documentation or correspondenceWorking knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to detailsAbility to work well with laborTravel requirement (as a percent) :
