Maintenance Manager

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for managing the performance of the maintenance supervisor, maintenance coordinator, maintenance technicians, managing a preventive and predictive maintenance program to increase machine uptime and improve efficiencies, facilities maintenance, and special projects to enhance safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives that support company goals. Health, safety and environmental compliance will be a priority for the position.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promotes, supports, and implements lean policies, concepts and continuous improvement initiatives Manages maintenance technicians on multiple shifts and directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repairs Manages maintenance budget by planning, developing, and implementing new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of equipment, labor and materials Develops and manages the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program to include an autonomous maintenance program and a predictive maintenance program. Regularly provides status reports on TPM activities, while identifying issues and providing recommendations to address roadblocks and areas of opportunity. Train and develop team members to safely perform their jobs and appreciate the value of 100% safety engagement Ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies including management of all regulatory permits needed to run the DeKalb facility. Drive the company standards within the plant and serve as a change agent for continuous improvement throughout the operation Completes special project as assigned, including justification and implementation of capital equipment and upgrades Recommends and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve safety, quality, and efficiency Coordinate with all cross functional teams to develop and improve autonomous, preventative, predictive, and reliability maintenance programs Coordinates and supervises all facility contractor(s) and outsourced maintenance work Develops a cross training matrix for all maintenance associates and equipment Identifies and promotes continuing education/training opportunities for the team

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor of Science Degree or relevant education/experience/training in field 5+ years of industrial maintenance and TPM experience 5+ years of progressive supervisory experience Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain and upbeat and positive attitude Strong ability to work in self-directed, fast-paced matrix-based professional environment Possess Class K certification, or ability to earn certification

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents, including blueprints, job orders and specifications Ability to write routine reports in a professional manner Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole, fractional and decimal numbers

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
