The Maintenance Manager will oversee and lead maintenance procedures and actions for the Evansville location. The manager will help to provide the resources needed for the team to complete the work. This position will supervise and coordinate the workload among maintenance team members.
Essential Functions:
Supervise the maintenance team members on campus. Schedule and prioritize work within the department to ensure a well-orchestrated workflow for quality workmanship. Ensure materials are ordered as needed. Manage relationships with contractors and service providers. Maintain current knowledge on materials, technology, and processes. Work with safety and quality departments to ensure compliance. Assist with improving and developing new processes for increased efficiency and effectiveness. Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities. Monitor electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems of the facility to ensure functionality. Maintain maintenance logs and report on activities as needed. Set Corporate standard for preventive maintenance and maintenance activities. Generate reports as needed. Provide proactive support and solutions when needed. Work closely and cooperatively with others in the organization to achieve goals and promote a team driven environment. Ensure tools and equipment are available and in good working condition in order to work efficiently and effectively. Manage the purchase of tools, materials, and equipment to ensure an efficient and effective department. Ensure that all completed work meets Flanders’ Standards and complies with Flanders’ ISO Quality System. Identify and assist with training needs. Direct or provide on-the-job training and mentoring as needed. Assist technicians with jobs as needed. Support all FLANDERS shops as needed. Complete and deliver employee performance reviews for department personnel. Conduct performance corrective counseling in consultation with Human Resources as needed. Actively participate in the recruitment and hiring of employees. Communicate clearly, concisely, and with accuracy to employees, customers, and vendors. Foster good employee/management relations. Perform other duties as requested.Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent Bachelor’s degree or Trade School degree preferred Experience: 10 years of experience in a supervisory role in a maintenance team, machine shop, or similar environment 7 years of shop experience. Other: Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems Ability to multitask while coordinating multiple high-level priorities Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software Experience in planning maintenance operations Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with staff members Ability to successfully lead, train, manage and mentor employees Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to non-routine duties Overnight travel may be required.
