The Maintenance Manager is responsible for eliminating all causes of equipment failure and ensuring the full useful life of machinery through effective daily maintenance activities.
This role leads maintenance workers engaged in the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.
The Maintenance Manager provides technical and problem-solving support for plant and maintenance crews while implementing plant-specific maintenance strategies to achieve key performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and coach maintenance technicians in performing their duties effectively.Coordinate and oversee all maintenance activities and communications during the shift.Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program and assign responsibilities.Ensure compliance with all safety policies and program requirements.Collaborate with the leadership team to address plant-wide issues beyond the maintenance department.Monitor and inspect machines and equipment to ensure compliance with operational standards.Analyze production, quality control, and maintenance reports to plan and adjust maintenance activities.Maintain maintenance inventory, including ordering and stocking parts as needed.Communicate maintenance project results and activities accurately.Provide technical and business skill development opportunities for maintenance team members.Coordinate overtime coverage for technicians as directed by the Plant Manager.Maintain compliance with safety, PPE, and OSHA standards.Ensure adherence to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) rules and ISO requirements.Promote a clean and organized work environment through 5S practices.Perform other duties as assigned.Education:
High school diploma or GED required.Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams in a similar capacity.Experience:
3+ years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, and/or capital projects preferred.Project management experience with the ability to engage cross-functional teams.Strong understanding of HVAC, compressed air systems, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).Ability to read and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.Expertise in troubleshooting complex systems, preferably electromechanical systems.Manual machining, fabrication, and welding experience.PLC programming/ladder logic and automation skills (preferred).Experience with heavy industrial mechanical work.Competencies:
