Job Summary
A Maintenance Manager oversees the strategic planning and execution of maintenance activities within the site for as well Scent, Taste as Shared departments. The responsibilities include developing and implementing maintenance policies, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations. Lead and coordinate teams to maintain and improve equipment efficiency, prevent downtime, and support plant goals. Additionally, they handle programs to ensure operational excellence and plant sustainability goals.Strategic planning and budget management ( Machine downtime, OEE target, speed of response, PM metrics. )
Manager is involved in the strategic planning of maintenance activities. Develop long-term maintenance strategies and goals, such as TPM strategy, autonomous maintenance, contractor administration, etc.
Monitor and analyze maintenance performance metrics, using data to drive improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure the availability of necessary tools, equipment, and spare parts by developing system of inventory management and procurement processes.
Ensure availability of resources needed for execution of maintenance processes
Handle budgeting, resource allocation, and cost control to ensure efficient use of resources and plant assets.
Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, negotiating technical scope and ensuring quality service delivery
Ensure Safety and Quality compliance ( Safety and Quality metrics )
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards, leading the regular audits and implementing preventive and corrective actions.
Ensure the machine and worker permit or license is aligned to the local or global standard. Lead the extension of permit or license when necessary.
Project management ( On-time project completion, Machine downtime, OEE target, budget )
Align with engineering regarding maintenance projects from idea to completion, ensuring they are completed safely, on time and within budget. This is depending on the scope of project; only one on one replacement is executed by maintenance; large projects or substantial changes are handed over to engineering department.
People development & continuous improvement ( Engagement survey, number of continuous improvements, feedback from internal customers. )
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, implementing innovative solutions to enhance maintenance processes.
Implementation of career ladder assessment towards the department of Maintenance.
Leading the implementation of Operating System in Maintenance department including 5S and 6Sigma. Actively participating in plant level (tier 2 -5), serve as a key point of contact between the maintenance department and other departments, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
Harboring continuous improvement culture in Maintenance department through proactive idea generation, excellent execution and recognition.
Job Requirements
Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or comparable.
Good knowledge or experience in food, pharma operations such as GMP, 5S and food safety is preferred
Min 5 years’ experience in Engineering & Maintenance field. Min 5 years’ experience as people leader.
Intermediate mechanical Skills: proficiency with tools and machinery
Intermediate electrical knowledge: understanding electrical systems and the safety risk and precaution
Intermediate plumbing Skills: proficiency of plumbing systems for maintenance and repair tasks.
Intermediate HVAC Knowledge: understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Knowledge about improvement methods like TPM, 6 sigma and RCA
Understanding of financial controls of a maintenance department
Local safety qualification or certification is preferred.
