Job Description

The Maintenance Manager energizes & motivates an experienced team of maintenance employees
to work safely, improve cycle time, focus on quality, & meet production goals. Oversees and ensures
that the equipment, machinery, general repairs, site maintenance, installation of new
equipment/systems, and preventative maintenance programs are carried out efficiently and
properly. Focuses on preventative maintenance programs and improvements. Teams with the Plant
Manger to foster a compliance-based culture and acts as a driving force for EHS programs and safety.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Oversees the plant maintenance staff and directs all maintenance operations.Coordinates and schedules the maintenance operations with other plant operations teams to ensure efficient and safe operationsExecutes on the preventative maintenance strategies for the plant by use of SAP (ERP)Participates in the selection, interviewing & hiring of new maintenance employeesManages the orientation & training of new employeesWorks with all maintenance related vendors to ensure that the plant and facility are in good working orderMotivates employees thru inclusiveness, tangible rewards & recognition, & strategic developmental plansChampions integrity & ethical work practicesActs as a resource in the diagnosis of malfunctioning machinery, installation of new equipment and systems, and general repairsLeads by example & develops close working relationships with the plant staff, vendors, customers & leaders

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in an operations or management position)At least two additional years of maintenance, operations or management experienceAbility to read and interpret instruction and safety manualsProficient in Word, Excel and PowerPointMathematical skills, including math operations in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratio and percentagesAbility and willingness to work in a range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilitiesAbility to work in the elementsAbility to lift a minimum 50 pounds on a regular basisAbility to work with chemicals, hazardous materials

Preferred: 

BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Demonstrated knowledge of water treatment processes, pumps, motorsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing process and/or Six SigmaKnowledge of Environmental Health and Safety RegulationsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and awarenessSense of urgencyAccountableClear thinker
