Maintenance Manager

**Main Areas of Responsibilities of the position but not limited to** :
+ Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with Mine Health & Safety Act are observed by employees. This includes planning the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals in the PaSSE and SHARP plans, and monitoring the safety program and its effectiveness to ensure a safe workplace
+ Provides leadership for improvements within the maintenance groups
+ Participate in appropriate safety training for all assigned employees
+ Interface with MSHA and other governing health and safety agencies at local and federal level as required
+ Follow up investigations working with Safety Committee, and others as needed
+ Coordinate and monitor the activities of all maintenance employees assigned
+ Ensure preventative action is taken to avoid the occurrence of nonconformities relating to product or process or to the quality system
+ Ensures correct, accurate, and timely reporting of information on all maintenance Work Orders, including “Urgent Repairs”
+ Recommend solutions to problems related to the product or process, or to the quality system, and, when approved, participates in the implementation, management and verification of those solutions
+ Provide technical and tactical support to the Maintenance Team, Engineer, Production and Project Manager to maximize kiln efficiency and minimize unscheduled down time
+ Participate in the identification of and/or implement training plans and needs for assigned plant maintenance personnel, and coordinate training for all employees when necessary to assure job safety and efficiency
+ Ensure the execution of the daily maintenance plan to meet sales and production needs while maintaining efficient maintenance costs and explaining significant variances from the plan
+ Routinely monitor key performance indicators identifying opportunities for improvement and making appropriate supervisory and management personnel aware of the findings
+ Ensure the Management System is effective and well understood by all employees
+ Actively participate in the daily morning production and maintenance meeting to communicate with production and maintenance, all safety talks, and weekly scheduling meetings between maintenance and production
+ Ensure a good understanding of the CMMS/SAP maintenance modules
+ Ensure personnel perform good quality work and provide feedback to each worker on progress in meeting company expectations and goals
+ Planning of yearly plant outages (Microsoft Project or similar).
+ Maintain SAP work order system, enter RFQ in SAP and manage SAP parts inventory with warehouser.
+ Manage contractors onsite safety, performance reviews and manage contractor disputes.

+ Kiln Reliability – 98%
+ Completion of preventive maintenance plan – aim of 100%
+ Manage 80/20 percentage for electrical preventive maintenance
+ Timely completion of calibration requirements
+ Meet or exceed agreed goals and targets on a consistent basis
+ Successfully coordinates maintenance functions requirements with contractors, RFQ and contactor disputes.
+ Bill Materials verification is consistently complete and correct
+ Knowledge of people management skills
+ Experience in mining and/or heavy engineering industry is considered a plus for this position
+ Knowledge of continuous manufacturing business sector
+ Technical creditability as it relates to industry, with a preference on mining and kilns
+ Demonstrated ability to assess organizational and people issues, provide coaching and mentoring, and deliver solutions that improve facility performance; Demonstrated ability to take initiative, strong organization and prioritization skills
+ Demonstrates the ability to apply appropriate conflict management strategies to ensure conflicts are resolved to the benefit of all parties
+ Establishes and maintains highly productive working relationships across the organization with all groups within the region and the company; demonstrating respect for conflicting points of view, listens to others, and builds strong working relationships
+ Demonstrates excellent technical writing and computer skills for producing SOP, reports, and other appropriate communications
+ Knows appropriate negotiating tactics and is able to negotiate win/win agreements without compromising principles
+ Demonstrates the ability to manage maintenance projects using project management methodology and techniques
+ Uses quality management skills to ensure all procedures and work activities conform to work specifications and standards
+ Demonstrates the ability to work autonomously with an emphasis on being results oriented
**Basic Requirements** :
+ Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field preferred
+ 7+ years industrial, mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required
+ 5+ years of supervisory experience; industry background in heavy manufacturing related; mining, paper mills, steel plants, refining, utilities, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants industries preferred
+ Positive & proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions; working knowledge of material handling feeders, convey or belt systems, and general knowledge pumping systems; experience in PLC or Wonderware troubleshooting a plus
+ Strong computer skills required; experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); SAP and Microsoft Project experience is a plus
+ Strong interpersonal/people skills; results driven; self-starter; able to initiate and be willing to hold others accountable for achieving company and site objectives
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures manuals, and blueprints
+ Ability to write and communicate routine reports and correspondence
