Maintenance Manager - Southport, NC
Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will take responsibility for all maintenance activities on the plant site, provide technical support for the maintenance team, and develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities for equipment and practices. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with plant staff and mechanics to provide good customer service. This position will train & supervise maintenance staff and key personnel to ensure that the facility has a safe and reliable maintenance program at the lowest cost.
Specific Job Duties:Champion the plant’s predictive maintenance efforts to include vibration analysis, IR monitoring and oil analysis. Analysis of work order history to identify opportunities for improvement.Develops preventive maintenance requirements for new and existing equipment.Develops work practices and procedures and communicates them to mechanics.Ensures proper parts are available in the stock room and works with stock room personnel to ensure additions/deletions are made on a timely basis.Performs root cause analysis of failures.Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions.Evaluates equipment history and predictive maintenance data to assist in the anticipation of plant maintenance needs and prioritization of work.Possess a “hands-on” attitude and be willing to assist anyone in Maintenance or Production with repairs as needed.Supervise Maintenance Supervisors, Planners, Mechanics and Electricians.Preferred Skills:Formal training in mechanical and/or electrical discipline and a minimum of 5 years of maintenance leadership experience.Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated extremely strong commitment and leadership in plant Safety, Environment and Quality programs.Interpersonal skills employed include; handling conflict, motivating, instructing
and training personnel in a fair, honest and direct way.CMMS program (Maximo) experience to manage planning, scheduling and inventory control.Environment:Primarily Monday – Friday, but available for operations outside of standard working hours.Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, some lifting(50 lbs), sit or stand for long periods, work at heights, bending, kneeling, and be able to be respirator qualified.Must be able to work in all environmental conditions, including temperature extremes, and a dusty environmentCarry ladders and toolsWalk long distancesMild and strong Acids (Citric, Phosphoric, Sulfuric) and Caustics (Sodium and Potassium Hydroxide, Calcium Hypochlorite (HTH)Excited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
