Your Role at KIK
A Mechanic plays a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting equipment on our filling and packaging lines. This role supports the Chicago facility on the midnight shift.
What You’ll Be Doing
Sets up production equipment to run scheduled product Discusses difficulties in operating equipment with machine operators to isolate problems, and then troubleshoots machine to determine cause and repairs required. Must be able to read and follow directions as found in technical manuals as well as be able to document any and all changes they are involved in. so as to refer back to the notes and records a thereby gain understanding as to how to set up lines an adjust machines and conveyors as needed. Performs necessary repairs on equipment to keep it in top running order. Must be able to perform major mechanical overhauls of some packaging equipment Carries out required preventative maintenance on equipment. Assists in determining required design modifications and makes approved modifications to equipment.The above statement describes the general nature and level off work only. What You’ll Bring
Minimum 4 years mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred) Highschool Diploma or GED required Possess strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills Preventative maintenance program knowledge Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management software’s an asset Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, complexity, and work within a fast paced, dynamic environment Working Conditions: The production facility is within an indoor/outdoor, industrial environment and is not climate controlled. Technician will regularly enter areas that require the use of stairs or ladders, respirator protection, and enter closely confined spaces.
