Maintenance Mechanic Level 1
Department: CA Distribution
Location: Whittier, CA
Shift: 3
The Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Maintenance Manager. This member of the Distribution Center team performs facility and conveyor system maintenance. The individual must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and safely complete tasks in a timely manner.
Major Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
A Level 1 Mechanic is expected to have a basic understanding of electrical, mechanical and electronic components.Ability to preform assembly and testing of basic electrical, mechanical and electronic componentsPerforms routine maintenance on tool, test equipment, etc.Capable of completing required service paperworkIdentifies problems as they occur and suggest appropriate steps to solve themTrack belts, replace motors, reducers, and conveyor partsConduct daily system walks and identifies potential issuesFollows all maintenance safety programs, for example, lock-out/tag-out, Hot Work, Fall ProtectionMonitor Sorter to ensure processes are running and the system is operating normallyPerforms general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, painting, and mechanical.Essential Skills:
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and all other related systems.Basic knowledge of conveyor systems.Able to use CMMS to track work orders & PMsAbility to use various hand and shop toolsBasic computer skills.Proficient with manual and electric hand tools.Basic understanding of welding and fabricatingCapable of operating lift equipment.Capable of basic troubleshooting any applicable building systems.Requirements:
