**Job Description**
**The Maintenance Mechanic role involves demonstrating advanced mechanical expertise across various systems such as conveyor mechanics, electrical, motor control programming, refrigeration, boilers, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. This position requires completing unscheduled troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment, including packaging, mixing, and dough processing machinery, with minimal guidance. The role also includes performing scheduled maintenance repairs during production downtime, reading equipment manuals and schematics to perform required maintenance, and operating hand and power tools safely and efficiently.**
**Responsibilities**
+ Demonstrate advanced mechanical expertise in conveyor mechanics, electrical systems, motor control programming, refrigeration, boilers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
+ Complete unscheduled troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs of equipment including packaging, mixing, and dough processing machinery with minimal guidance.
+ Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during scheduled production downtime.
+ Read and comprehend equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
+ Possess a strong understanding of part numbers and equipment nomenclature for accurate identification and tracking of components.
+ Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including Multimeter, drills, impact drivers, grinders, sanders, heat guns, soldering irons, air compressors, pneumatic tools, and welding equipment (TIG, MIG).
+ Record all work and accomplishments in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
+ Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
**Essential Skills**
+ Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration, Welding, Mechanic skills.
+ Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
+ Experience with TIG and MIG welding.
+ Troubleshooting skills.
+ Ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
+ Combined level of education and experience in industrial maintenance.
+ Good organizational skills for record-keeping.
+ Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).

**Work Environment**
This is a very active position requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. Employees must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. The role involves exposure to high noise levels and moving mechanical parts, with hearing protection provided. Work hours are typically Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm, with flexibility required to work from 6am to 2:30pm. The production area temperature may vary based on weather and equipment operating conditions. The position demands flexibility with long working hours and potential overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smithsburg, Maryland
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
