The Mechanic is responsible for preserving and enhancing the buildings, equipment and critical infrastructure in the most cost-effective manner. Must exemplify high standards of service, excellence in all interactions with consumers, patients, residents, visitors, physicians, and employees. This position will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. Facilitates mechanical, pneumatic and electrical repairs and/or other types of repairs relating to maintenance of the physical structure of the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completes all maintenance and ground service requests as assigned.Maintains inventory controls for cost effective operations and work within expense limits established.Schedules and completes the "Preventative Maintenance Program".Coordinates special projects as directed by Engineering/Facilities Supervisor.Assists in monitoring all work performed by outside contractors.Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled.Carry pager/cell phone as required for on-call maintenance.Monitors and maintains all building systems as assigned.Alerts the Engineering/Facilities Supervisor of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur.Assures safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines.Ensures compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.Repairs and maintains plant machinery and equipment repairs or replaces control devices.Sets up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment.Fabrications and modifications of new and existing equipment.Participates in plant safety, health and environmental programs.Independently performs: Light Bulb Changes, Caulking, Filter Changes, Painting, Lock Repairs, Install/Repair Window Coverings, Preventative Maintenance, Moderate Plumbing Repairs, Moderate Electrical Repairs and Troubleshooting, Electric Bed Repairs and Troubleshooting, HVAC Repairs, Vinyl Repair, Multi Surface Wall repairs and Reconstructing.Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
2 years healthcare experience preferred in maintenance/engineering. Highly experience in mechanical repairs required. Class C; D.E.C. Underground Storage Tank Certification required or obtained within one year.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
