**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic 3rd shift**
**Job Description**
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting issues, repairing production and facilities equipment failures, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability. The role involves working on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment, diagnosing problems, and implementing solutions to ensure smooth production operations.
**Responsibilities**
+ Troubleshoot and repair failures of production and facilities equipment.
+ Ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.
+ Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.
+ Work directly with production associates and management to resolve production issues and maximize efficiencies.
+ Observe mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
+ Assist with planning/scheduling and storeroom staff for CMMS tracking, including work orders, parts, and purchase requisitions.
+ Fabricate, disassemble, and assemble production equipment to remove defective parts.
+ Investigate electrical and instrument equipment failures and develop action plans to eliminate repetitive failures.
+ Use the SAP Work Order system to initiate purchase orders for parts and machines and document hours worked on applicable work orders.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot/repair processing, filling, and packaging production equipment.
+ Weld, perform sheet metal work, and employ basic shop floor skills (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools).
+ Install, move, and relocate machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings.
+ Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of three years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
+ Experience with control panels, PLCs, lift systems, conveyor shafts, motor and bearing replacement.
+ Knowledge of Allen Bradley Control Logix Processors and RSLogix 5000.
+ Understanding of control system design and network communication interfaces.
+ Technical knowledge in DCS/PLC control systems, high voltage equipment, PLC applications, line drives, process instrumentation, and data acquisition.
+ Experience using the SAP Work Order system.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Food and beverage industry experience is nice to have but not required.
+ Ability to work on multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
+ Experience with preventive maintenance programs.

**Job Type**
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Months).
**Work Site**
This is a fully on-site position in Garland, Texas.
**Work Environment**
This role is based in a food and beverage manufacturing industry with non-climate controlled conditions. The work involves 3rd shift hours from 10:00PM - 6:30AM.
