Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Department: Plant Operations Shift: Nights Daily Work Times: 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Scheduled Hours per Pay: 80 Rate of Pay: Minimum $21.14 plus 8.25% 3rd shift premium = $22.88   Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager repairs, installs, adjusts, monitors, and maintains building HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems  and performs skilled maintenance and repair tasks of the hospital building systems.   

Required: High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of hospital related building systems maintenance experience or five years of general building system maintenance experience. Must possess valid State of Michigan Operator’s license Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive hospital vehicles

Preferred:  

4th class power engineering certification from NIULPE (National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Inc.) or has Third Class Stationary Engineer, licensed/registered by the State of Michigan Certification as a Health Care Mechanic or Health Care Engineer, as accredited by MECH or the Healthcare Facilities Alliance or similar agency. Previous experience in HVAC/R systems maintenance in a health care setting. Previous experience working alone, without assistance.
