Operations Technician Job Description
Job Summary:
Conducting preventative maintenance on plant equipment in a safe manner, welding and cutting for
repairs and patch jobs, servicing plant equipment, conducting inspections on plant equipment, tracking daily, weekly, monthly, semiannual PM services on plant equipment. Trouble shoot issues with plant
equipment, assist in ordering parts for plant equipment, maintain and track inventory of critical spare parts for plant equipment. Learn plant process and flow for correct, preventative maintenance on plant equipment. Maintain maintenance logs and records of all systems & repairs. Light maintenance on
mobile equipment, housekeeping, participate in all safety activities.
1.\tSafety training for industrial activities.
2.\tWelding: You must be proficient in welding and cutting mild steel including
repairing chutes, fabricating replacement parts, hard surfacing buckets, crusher parts, and other general welding utilizing all safety procedures and PPE.
3.\tConveyor and Elevators: Change belts, track belts, replace buckets, change drive parts including bearings, reducers, pulleys, motors, etc.
4.\tBaghouses: Maintain condition including replacement of screw parts, bags,
cages, air piping, diaphragms, blower pipe and equipment, timer boards.
5.\tAir Compressors -Trouble shoot and service air compressor and air dryer.
6.\tDryer: Adjust Trunions, thrust rollers, bearings, service chain and sprocket,
change lifter flights, and troubleshoot burner equipment.
7.\tCrushers: Daily service including replacement of wear parts, pedestal, insuring balance, change oil, and other general maintenance.
8.\tScreens: General maintenance, including repairing, rebuilding, replacing screens, greasing, and replacing wear components.
9.\tBagging Equipment: General maintenance, including adjusting, troubleshooting, and replacing equipment on blowers, flow packers, palletize
10.\tElectrical: Minor troubleshooting and repair
11.\tTraining on all plant mobile equipment for maintenance activities.
12.\tMobile Equipment: General troubleshooting and servicing including changing
oils, and minor repairs of hydraulic hoses, belts, batteries, alternators, pumps, etc.
13.\tDaily, weekly, monthly equipment inspections, record keeping, inventory
tracking
14.\tAssist in tracking and ordering parts & spare parts inventory.
15.\tLearn all plant systems for proper upkeep and maintenance.
16.\tHousekeeping activities, including maintaining housekeeping in work areas, maintenance shop, hot work station.
Work Experience
Basic Qualifications:
Read, Write, good verbal communications, mechanical skills comprehension, welding, cutting &
fabrication experience, industrial electrical experience, industrial equipment background, read blue
prints & diagrams, knowledge, and use of multimeters, testing equipment and hand tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Computer skills experience, and knowledge in the following: forklift operation, mobile equipment
operation, belt & screw conveyors, bucket elevators, crushers, rotary dryer, burner system, flow packers, palletizing systems, air compressors,
