They provide cleaning services and light maintenance on school property and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. Duties/ Responsibilities: Complete daily check-list of cleaning responsibilities including but not limited to: + Lifting and moving of materials and furniture + Light painting + Strip, seal, finish and polish floors + Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include drywall, repairing doors, and other building fixtures + Inspects and identifies offices, classrooms, and equipment in need of repair + Basic landscaping and lawncare, lawn maintenance + Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance + Notify manager concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems + Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors, fixtures, and furniture + Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Head of School Qualifications: Requirements & Experience: + Prior experience equal to or greater than 1 year, in a maintenance or custodial position + Display ethical and professional behaviors: + Follow school policies and procedures for protecting the confidentiality, health, safety, and well-being of children. + Demonstrate a positive attitude toward Health Sciences Charter School and its personnel Education + High school diploma or equivalent required Skills and Competencies: + Ability to follow instructions from supervisor and Head of School + Knowledge of general carpentry and repair + Ability to use hand tools and power tools + Strong organizational and time management skills.
