**Description** JOB DESCRIPTION INFORMATION Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic Position Type: Fulltime FLSA Status: Hourly Department: Maintenance Location: Columbia, MO Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor JOB SUMMARY This role is for **_experienced_** industrial Maintenance Mechanics. Under limited supervision and under established procedures, this **experienced** mechanic is responsible for maintenance of facility equipment including troubleshooting issues related to machinery such as Formax, Alkar, Multivac, Flexvac and slicing equipment. Ideal candidates will have a background in: Boiler Maintenance, Refrigeration, Electrical Systems, Schematics, Multi-meters, Hydraulics and pneumatics. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor all production areas to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and machinery. Complete assigned work orders. MUST adhere to Safety Procedures including, but not limited to Lock Out Tag Out, Power Industrial Truck, Scissor Lift, Harness/Fall Protection, etc. Adjust, repair, and replace electrical and electronic equipment. Promote and encourage safety in all aspects of maintenance. Complete required paperwork. Completes assigned responsibilities and oversees the mechanical work of equipment. Responsible for correcting or facilitating correctable measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects. Conducts pre-operational inspection and handles maintenance concerns of Production Supervisors to make sure operation begins as scheduled. Willing to work 40+ hours per week in all areas of the plant. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES High School diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read, write, and speak in English. Ability to perform general mathematical calculations. Mechanical inclination and knowledge of job specifications. Previous production maintenance experience in a food manufacturing facility strongly preferred. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Ability to work 12-hour shifts is required Noise level in the work areas can be loud, especially in the ammonia compressor room Will be regularly exposed to outside weather in all conditions Will be regularly exposed to chemicals used in the plant and for maintenance processes Able to climb ladders and stairs regularly Able to climb under and over piping and equipment as needed Plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold (non-weather related), and working near moving mechanical parts Food manufacturing operations environment More about us: Since 1945, Principe has combined its Italian heritage with true craftsmanship to deliver the best Italian meats and charcuterie in the world.
