Job Description
As a Maintenance Mechanic in the Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for supporting the daily execution of the maintenance department’s operating plan. You will collaborate with the Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Technicians, Operations, and Safety teams to increase the overall availability and reliability of equipment.
ResponsibilitiesSupport plans to reduce breakdowns, improve planned maintenance, optimize scheduled maintenance, and effectively execute down-day events.Maintain the facility in a safe manner and ensure a high level of equipment availability.Participate in wash-up day planning, half-time, and follow-up meetings.Incorporate plant delay items into weekly wash-ups.Maintain close contact with operations to ensure maintenance activities occur with minimal disruption to production.Recommend improvements in maintenance and operational procedures.Capture and record necessary equipment and material history.Work with storeroom personnel to order replacement parts.Maintain and repair equipment and machinery used in the manufacturing of fiber cement siding.Perform troubleshooting and repair of rotating equipment, bearings, rollers, conveyors, boilers, water filtration systems, flow pumps, and high-pressure water systems.Perform fabricating and welding as required to maintain machines.Perform preventive maintenance and replacement of worn parts on scheduled down days, including pump rebuilds, bearings, rollers, conveyor replacements, and other scheduled preventative maintenance.Rebuild and reseal plant pumps, gearboxes, valves, hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, and ultra high-pressure intensifiers.Troubleshoot and repair process equipment including dense phase conveyors and diverters, autoclaves, ball mills, refiners, belt conveyors, and boilers.Manufacture needed parts using machine shop equipment and hand tools.Provide mechanical support for the production process by drawing new equipment blueprints and writing new PM inspections for sheet machines.Shift
6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM
Will train on days 30-60days
MUST BE OPEN TO DAYS AND NIGHTS - It will depend on the need at that time and there will be a shift differential.
