Pay: $37.70 - $41.59 DOE
SUMMARY
The Asphalt Maintenance Mechanic constructs, installs, maintains and repairs any plant mechanical, structural, hydraulic or pneumatic equipment according to accepted cods and safety standards. Position makes necessary decisions, according to skill level, in carrying out all job functions to the fullest extent when working without direct supervision. Position will be able to demonstrate skills in power transmission, air systems, piping, hydraulic, pumps, troubleshooting components, welding, alignment procedures, rigging and millwright work, PLC, motor controls, electrical symbols and theory in the above skill levels.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:
Inspect equipment to identify potential problems; make timely and appropriate decisions in emergency or breakdown situations Work Monday - Friday with after-hour and weekend and holiday on-call responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, installations and upgrades, root cause failure analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, reliability-centered maintenance analysis Work from heights Maintain safety awareness to ensure good safety habits are instilled and compliance with all plant safety rules, regulations and processes Coordinate contract electrical installations or repairs as necessary. Operate Powered Industrial Vehicles Read, write, and speak English Would be terrific if you also had… Basic Computer / Microsoft Office Skills A strong electrical background Previous manufacturing experience Familiarity with boilers, pumps, valves, and motors Valid driver's license and ability to become certified to operate a forklift Experience with Industrial electrical componentsERP or CMMS system, such as SAP Industrial electrical components Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times All other duties assigned or needed

The employee should possess the ability to:
Exposure to extreme temperature extremes indoors and outdoors of the plant Ability and willingness to utilize OSHA-approved hearing protection while working in noisy environments above 80 decibels. Stand/walk for prolonged periods of time (10-12 hour shifts) Engage in prolonged repetitive movements Bend, turn, climb, crouch, reach or twist Good eye-hand coordination Ability to move up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.).
