Summary

Responsible for providing overall mechanical support to the production group in the areas of packaging as well as processing and facilities to ensure continuous operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing & packaging departmentsDiagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solvingExperience with drill press, grinder, saws, and all other machine shop toolsSetup, takedown, and relocation of Bakery and Packaging equipmentPerform preventative maintenance, and safety inspectionsProvide solution to routine or unique equipment problemsPromptly respond to equipment related issues with customer oriented mannerEquipment PM (Preventive Maintenance) – responsible for maintaining equipment in safe working condition, lubricating necessary parts, changing worn out or damaged partsEquipment (Production) – helps production setup the equipment on the line and troubleshoot/repair equipment during shift.Shop House Keeping - responsible for maintaining maintenance shop and tool box organized and cleanFilling Out Shift Report – responsible for filling out electronically the shift report in specific issue’s or tasks completed during shift. Ordering Parts – responsible for ordering parts on QMS that get used and helping the coordinator maintain shop inventory 

Required Experience

Millwright License or equivalent experienceMinimum 2 years mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)Strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures is an assetKnowledge of preventative maintenance programs is an assetMechanical training or experience is preferred Committed to working towards a Mechanical CertificationMust have a valid driver’s licensePassionate about mechanical repair
