The role of Mechanic 8 is to have efficiently running production and manufacturing equipment and assist with capital projects. **THE ROLE** In this role you will be responsible for: + _Installation of material handling and processing equipment._ + _Change over and Setup packaging equipment._ + _Maintenance of the machinery._ + _Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical problems._ + _Effectively communicate with supervisors, other mechanics and outside vendors._ + _Help organize and maintain the parts supply inventory._ + _Perform all responsibilities with good safety and housekeeping practices._ + _Improve the performance and efficiency of the machines._ + _Effectively participate as a team member on various projects._ **_Key Performance Indications:_** + _% of distribution downtime_ + _% of work order and preventive maintenance done on time_ + _Improve safety/5S_ **WHAT YOU’LL BRING** We’d love to see candidates who have: **_Essential:_** + _Must have a High School diploma or equivalent._ + _Associate degree in industrial maintenance or similar preferred_ **_Knowledge:_** **_Power wiring:_** + _Replace a motor_ + _Install a switch_ + _Isolate power and lock it out_ + _Use electrical test equipment_ + _Terminate wires from a diagram_ + _Isolate and repair a power circuit problem_ + _Understand a power circuit blueprint_ **_Control Systems:_** + _Trouble shooting_ + _Program a process controller (temperature or motor for example)_ + _Understand control circuit blueprints_ + _Selecting the proper component on a repair or installation_ **_Shop Skills:_** + _Works safely and cleans up after the part is fabricated_ + _Operates a lathe and milling machine_ + _Accurate use of measurement equipment_ + _Welding_ + _Use of all other cutting and finishing equipment_ + _Can produce a quality part_ **_Production floor skills:_** + _Trouble shooting_ + _Knowledge of the machine and equipment used in distribution_ + _Ease of understanding unfamiliar equipment_ + _Change over performance_ + _Ability to modify equipment to improvement performance_ **_People Skills:_** + _Teamwork_ + _Managing and developing people_ + _Communication_ **_Creativity and Innovation:_** + _Communicates effectively with supervisors, operators, outside visitors and peers_ + _Self-starter_ + _Innovator_ + _Ability to learn and understand technical concepts_ + _Takes direction well_ + _Can handle change_ + _Shares knowledge with others_ **Position Type/Expected Hours of Work** This is a full-time position. This position requires the ability to work mandatory overtime to meet business needs either within the day and/or the weekend and business operates on multiple shifts.
