Maintenance Mechanic I

Position Summary:

The position is for an entry level mechanic with an electrical emphasis to join our team and maintain our rapidly evolving equipment automation for a continuously developing portfolio of products.

Duties:

Must be qualified and capable of performing skilled machine and lathe work and performing major and general mechanical, electrical and pipe fitting work as well as a variety of building and equipment maintenance tasks in the plant or on the premises.

Must be capable of performing various types of welding operations required for repair and installation of equipment.

Under the direction of the supervisor, must be capable of operating the Storeroom by assisting in the following areas.

Receive parts, tools, labels, and supplies into the Storeroom and check against the purchase order for accuracy of receipt.

Maintain stock inventory by entering required information, maintain bin cards, storeroom requisitions, and employee issue files as required.

Generate purchase requisitions as required and forward to the appropriate authority for approval.

Duties - cont'd Must maintain written and/or electronic records as required by management (i.e. cGMP and ISO procedures). Is responsible for keeping the storeroom area, equipment, and surrounding work area clean at all times. Must exercise extreme caution in order to not damage other material or property while operating moving equipment and must at all times exercise extreme caution for the safety of other employees. Must comply fully with all hazardous permitted procedures, including but not limited to, lockout/tagout, confined space entry or fall protection. When required for maintenance or repair activities, is responsible for removing accumulated hazardous wastes from affected area and for transporting such wastes to the hazardous waste storage area. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor or lead person. Required Experience High school graduate or equivalent 2- 3 year of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or equivalent through a trade school Must have a working knowledge of AC/DC theory, ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic, experience with low voltage 12-24 VDC to 480 VAC three phase wiring, basic understanding of arc flash and lockout tagout, ability to troubleshoot machine control circuits, and a strong mechanical background. Must maintain written and/or electronic records as required by management (i.e. cGMP and ISO procedures). Is responsible for keeping the storeroom area, equipment, and surrounding work area clean at all times. Must exercise extreme caution in order to not damage other material or property while operating moving equipment and must at all times exercise extreme caution for the safety of other employees. Preferred Experience Ability of performing skilled machine and lathe work and performing major and general mechanical, electrical and pipe fitting work as well as a variety of building and equipment maintenance tasks in the plant or on the premises (i.e. HVAC, plumbing,). Ability of performing various types of welding operations required for repair and installation of equipment. Under the direction of the supervisor, must be capable of operating the Storeroom by communicating to the Lead or Supervisor when minimum quantities of stock is reached and notifying the Lead or Supervisor when hand tools are defective Must comply fully with all hazardous permitted procedures including, but not limited to, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, line breaking or hot work permits. When required for maintenance or repair activities, is responsible for removing accumulated hazardous wastes from affected area and for transporting such wastes to the hazardous waste storage area. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor or lead person. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
