Lubrication TechMaintenance Mechanic III (Lubrication) Job description
Responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and lubricating industrial machinery and equipment by performing routine checks, applying appropriate lubricants to key components, identifying potential issues, and performing minor repairs to ensure optimal equipment functionality and prevent breakdowns, while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining detailed records of lubrication activities.
Work Activities
Equipment Inspections: Regularly inspecting industrial machinery for signs of wear, tear, and improper lubrication, including bearings, gears, chains, and other moving parts. Lubrication Application: Applying the correct type and amount of lubricant to machinery components based on manufacturer specifications and lubrication schedules. Fluid Level Checks: Monitoring and adjusting fluid levels in lubrication systems, such as oil reservoirs and grease guns. Grease Gun Operation: Utilizing grease guns to properly lubricate bearings and other designated areas. Contamination Control: Cleaning and maintaining lubrication points to prevent contamination from dirt, debris, and other foreign materials. Troubleshooting and Minor Repairs: Identifying and addressing minor lubrication-related issues, such as leaks, worn seals, or improper lubrication application. Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed logs of lubrication activities, including equipment inspected, lubricant type and quantity used, and any identified issues. Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety procedures and regulations related to industrial lubrication, including proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. Parts Ordering: Ordering necessary lubrication supplies and replacement parts as needed. Collaboration with Maintenance Teams: Coordinating with other maintenance technicians to identify and address lubrication-related concerns affecting equipment performance.Skills/Abilities
