At Danone, manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver of our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic based in West Jordan, UT.
Maintenance Mechanics support plant operations by maintaining plant equipment in the Packaging and Processing departments to meet and/or exceed the business unit's goals and objectives in safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and customer service. The Maintenance Mechanic ensures operations of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative & corrective maintenance requirements on various types of industrial equipment.
The base compensation range for this position is $33.34 - $38.06 per hour commensurate with experience. This position will work Night Shift on a 2-3-2 rotating schedule from 06:00 PM to 06:30 AM. A $1.25/hour shift differential will be paid in addition to the base hourly rate.
Training may occur on Day Shift, from 06:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

Main Responsibilities
Adheres to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards and policies by taking personal responsibility to prevent injury/illness to oneself & others from exposure to hazards. Follows all permit procedures including but not limited to lock-out/tag-out, confined space, arc flash and work at heights as required.Daily utilizes computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document maintenance activities including time spent, parts used, and description of work performed, abnormalities identified and follow up actions needed.Performs maintenance activities – preventative, corrective, breakdown and work orders to improve equipment performance, reliability and product quality in a timely manner as scheduled or assigned.Uses reasoning and analysis to troubleshoot equipment & parts failures to improve equipment performance during maintenance activities as well as by participating in focused improvement activities as assigned. Uses and cares for personal and company tools & equipment in a professional manner by utilizing tools & equipment as they were designed to be used.Maintains a safe, clean and orderly work site while performing maintenance activities and well as general areas assigned.Responds timely for maintenance assistance. Coordinates with maintenance & area owner leadership to prioritize work activities. Communicates with maintenance & area owners timely regarding safety issues, quality issues and work completion delays.Physical Demands
This position requires frequent walking, stooping, bending & twisting, and reaching in work areas to repair & retrieve machines/parts/tools, troubleshoot and perform equipment inspections. Occasionally may need to climb ladders, stairs, steps and/or to balance, squat, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision and color vision. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. The employee is frequently standing on a concrete surface for 12-hour shifts. The employee is occasionally exposed to heights, precarious places, fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration, and minimal low frequency radiation from x-ray machine. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Minimum of five (5) years of practical and/or classroom training on mechanical and manufacturing based machinery. Individuals with experience in the dairy, food and beverage industry is strongly desired. Experience should include a combination in most of the following: Process Control System (RS View), instrumentations, pumps, mechanical, pneumatic, motors, electrical, hydraulic, lubrication, compressors, utilities, boilers, and ammonia-based systems.Verifiable High School diploma or GED.Thorough understanding of mechanical procedures as related to manufacturing maintenance applications.The ability to quickly adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands, and delays or unexpected events and work with minimal supervisionThe ability to work in wet, cold, and/or humid conditions.
