Title: Maintenance Mechanic
\r\nShift: 2nd 3pm-11pm
\r\nPay: $17.80 plus $1.00 shift differential
\r\n$1.00 Increase after 90 days!
\r\n\r\nReports to: Maintenance Supervisor / Feed Mill Manager
\r\n\r\nSummary Description: Perform routine and emergency repair work to equipment and machinery. Assure operations meet production requirements and quality specifications.
\r\n\r\nEssential Job Functions / Duties:
\r\n1) Perform all duties in a safe manner consistent with company Policy & Procedures and safety training.
\r\n2) Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
\r\n3) Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas consistent with Good Manufacturing Practices.
\r\n4) Perform general labor duties as assigned or needed by management.
\r\n5) Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
\r\n6) Perform emergency repairs as needed.
\r\n7) Monitor and inspect equipment / machinery for mechanical soundness and make required and necessary repairs.
\r\n8) Perform preventive maintenance.
\r\n9) Perform all job functions consistent with Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, HACCP, and Quality Control Guidelines.
\r\n10) Must have good understanding of computer control system throughout the mill.
\r\n11) Must be able to study and take tests pertaining to the maintenance apprenticeship program.
\r\n12) Must be able to stay within the guidelines of the apprenticeship guide lines.
\r\n\r\nSecondary Functions / Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management. Must attend scheduled safety meetings and other training meetings.
\r\n\r\nSupervision: No supervisory responsibility.
\r\n\r\nQualifications / Experience / License
\r\n1) Must be task oriented and a self-starter with ability to follow detailed instructions.
\r\n2) Must be able to operate material handling equipment.
\r\n3) Experience in metal fabrication, feed equipment mechanics, electrical wiring and motors.
\r\n4) Must be able to work flexible hours as required and be on call.
\r\n\r\nEducational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Good reading, writing, math and communication skills required.
\r\n\r\nPhysical / Mental Requirements:
\r\n1) Ability to lift heavy equipment (75 lbs).
\r\n2) Ability to work at heights and climb ladders
\r\n3) Ability to work in confined spaces
\r\n4) Ability to work in any weather environment.
