Summary This position is located in Big Cypress National Preserve, in the Facilities Management Division. This position is a Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment. Responsibilities Develop and review estimates, technical reports, plans, and specifications; project labor, equipment, and material requirements; and develop financial plans. Build and maintain effective cooperative partnerships, establishing and maintaining working relationships with management, district supervisors, vendors, contractors, cooperating organizations, partnership associations, concessionaires, government agencies, community and volunteer groups, environmental organizations, and other special interest groups. Communicating orally and in writing to effectively prepare clear and concise submissions/reports and personal interactions. Responsible for ensuring equal opportunity for all employees supervised, and in the selection of employees for training, promotions, awards and recognition, and career development opportunities. Reviews and recommends improvements of work methods, organizational features and the structuring of positions. Conduct routine periodic inspections of job sites and work places, identify and correct job safety and health hazards Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship required. You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided. If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1 night per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes. Government Charge Card: You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority. Additional Information This announcement may be used to fill additional positions if identical vacancies occur within 90 days of the issue date of the referral certificate. Physical Demands: Incumbent must be able to frequently lift up to 40 pounds and must occasionally lift up to 60 pounds. Incumbent is required to occasionally use ladders and scaffolding and enter crawl spaces, attics, and other cramped areas. Working Conditions: The work setting is both indoors and outdoors with exposure to dampness, high humidity, chemicals, dust, rain, insects, poisonous plants, snakes, and is subject to injury from mechanical and electrical equipment. The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. Documentation for the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) eligibility, submission of ALL SF-50s and performance information for each period of temporary/term employment that qualifies for LMWFA.
