We have a unique and exciting opportunity to join our Maintenance Team at Sydney’s top visitor attractions as a site Maintenance Officer on a full time permanent contract.
**About the role**
Working with the Head of Technical Services and a small team of in house technicians, you’ll be supporting Sydney’s iconic attractions; SEA LIFE, WILD LIFE, Madame Tussauds & Sydney Tower Eye! Your responsibilities will include:
• Assisting the operations and curatorial teams with the day-to-day maintenance and implementation of ongoing programs for Sydney attractions including SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, Madame Tussauds Sydney and the Sydney Tower Eye.
• Performing repair, general and preventative maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment including, carpentry, gyprock repair, welding, metal fabrication, plumbing and masonry.
• Maintain structurally and aesthetically the interior and exterior of the building; and all building services (including electrical – disconnect/reconnect, waterproofing, walkways, concreting and painting)
• Repairing and treating structures such as doors, locks, showers, floors, sinks, walls and carpets.
• Fault finding and reporting mechanical and electrical malfunctions to third party for action.
• Assisting, facilitating, and supervising external contractors where required.
• Assisting the operations team with ensuring all operational requirements are completed.
• Inspect and ensure all jobs on the maintenance list have been completed to the specifications stipulated.
Once fully trained, this role will work a Sunday - Thursday roster pattern.
**About You**
To be successful in this role you will have:
• Broad knowledge of building maintenance required.
• Demonstrated reliability and diligence.
• Specific skills and experience regarding pre-checks on the various themed attraction rides and exhibits, preferable. However, where lacking, on job training will be provided.
• Assisting with the maintenance and organisation of a safe and functional mechanical workshop.
• Competent with the use of office computer software (Microsoft Office suite etc).
• Perform fault diagnosis on complex & interlinked software systems to ensure the on-going operation of plant equipment and minimise down time of infrastructure and systems.
• Intermediate knowledge of networking hardware infrastructure and the ability to work with specialists (both in person and through remote communication) to resolve networking issues.
This is a fast paced, guest facing environment – no two days are the same - so the ability to think on your feet, problem solve and use your initiative will be key in this role.
