Duties and Responsibilities + Painting interior walls, ceilings, floors and trim. + Painting exterior trim, doors and windows. + Refinish furniture, prepare and finish cabinetry. + Install and patch all types of wall coverings. + Prepare and patch new and damaged sheetrock walls and ceilings for painting (tape and texture). + Paint curbs and stripe streets. + Install and replace ceramic tile (thin-set). + Other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills + High School diploma or GED , plus successful completion of a four-year apprenticeship program, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. + Two years of full-time journeyman-level painting experience. + Demonstrated competence applying the standard practices and methods of the painting trade. + Demonstrated competence working with painting tools, materials and equipment. + Demonstrated experience applying paints and other finishes by brush, roller and spray gun. + Working knowledge of the characteristics of paints, varnishes, stains, shellacs, etc. + Demonstrated competence working with perfatape tools, materials, and equipment. + Demonstrated ability to work from blueprints, plans, sketches and specifications. Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills + Experience balancing multiple work assignments, meeting deadlines, and exercising adaptability to changing priorities. + Experience interfacing with a Computerized Maintenance Management System. + Experience working in an industrial spray booth. Position Special Requirements/Additional Information Must possess a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and meet all State of Montana requirements to operate State/University vehicles.
