BASIC FUNCTION:

Accountable for managing, planning, and scheduling non-emergency work orders for equipment to maximize reliability, optimize maintenance costs and reduce equipment downtime.

Coordinates with operating and maintenance personnel to determine, plan and schedule proactive maintenance including preventative, predictive, corrective maintenance, and project work.

Designs and creates procedures based on studying the operation and failures to lower costs and improve equipment reliability and energy efficiency.

Accountable for managing the plant’s stockroom activities, stock supplies, materials, spare parts, and overall parts procurement to maximize reliability, optimize maintenance costs and reduce equipment downtime.

Coordinates with the operating and maintenance personnel to determine appropriate spare parts and stocking levels.

This position works with and supports the plant’s overall Equipment Reliability Processes.

DIMENSIONS

This position is responsible for planning & scheduling various types of work, managing the plant’s stockroom and overall maintenance parts procurement. This role typically has no direct reports but works with maintenance and operations on reliability and maintainability processes. This position may have assigned direct responsibility for R&M projects.

NATURE AND SCOPE

This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating proactive maintenance activities of equipment. Providing technical assistance and maintenance expertise to the assigned plant value streams.

This position will maximize the reliability of plant equipment using a formal, systematic/analytical approach to planning and scheduling maintenance, and design improvements. Participate and facilitate, maintenance scheduled downtime, outages, and weekly planning meetings. This position will also use a formal, systematic/analytical approach to overseeing the plant’s stockroom and spare parts.

This position will be responsible for building detailed job plans, managing work orders and backlog for planned work and ensuring proper data management of the plant’s Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The incumbent will work within the company’s ERP and CMMS to monitor and manage performance in all assigned areas.

This position is also responsible for managing the plant’s stockroom activities, stock supplies, materials, spare parts and overall parts procurement to maximize reliability, optimize maintenance costs and reduce equipment downtime. Coordinates with the operating and maintenance personnel to determine appropriate spare parts and stocking levels.

Responsible for staying abreast of current technology and recommending changes to effect continual improvement of production processes. The incumbent should also possess a broad knowledge of maintenance concepts, and techniques.

The position will also:

Participate in major failure incident investigations in area of responsibility. Conduct routine safety and preventative maintenance activities including inspections, audits, employee contacts and visibility tours. Ensure that safety rules and requirements are being followed in all work areas. Maintain compliance with visual management standards. Assist with specification of obsolete parts replacement and procurement for items being planned and scheduled. \n

Candidate Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

A working knowledge and experience of purchasing parts and handling purchase orders. 5 S Training Maintenance-based experience in mechanical and electrical equipment used in aluminum extrusion and associated processes. Mechanically Incline  Due to close contact with operating management and personnel, outside contractors and vendors, this position requires the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of personalities and interests. Be able to follow and give high regard to safety rules and housekeeping procedures. Knowledge of computer software, especially CMMS software Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously. Please Note this is an Hourly Role Monday-Friday.
