Maintenance Planner

Job Summary
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning the work of the Multi-Craft Maintenance Technicians. The Planner works closely with the Production, Maintenance, Production Planning and other functions of the business to review work requests and determine objectives of the jobs. The Planner will develop detailed job plans including the labor (type and quantity), materials, tools and work procedures for repairs, alterations, and preventative maintenance for all types of equipment and the facility to meet the objectives of the work request. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Duties

Plan the work of Maintenance Technicians. Develop detailed job plans including the labor (type and quality), materials, tools and work procedures for repairs and alterations.

Serve as the Maximo Champion – assuming the point position on all Maximo-related issues.

Create and maintain all preventive and predictive maintenance work orders in Maximo including: job plans, work frequencies, work types, and estimated completion times.

Balance priorities, manpower, and material and equipment availability to develop department and individual work schedules.

Provide feedback to supervisor, lead, mechanics, electricians and specialists as needed.

Serve as a point of contact for contractors completing work onsite.

Assist with analysis, detailed design (including documentation), capital request preparation, installation, start-up/checkout/debugging, and cost control of assigned projects.

Work with Plant Engineering for capital projects as needed.

As part of the planning process, generate PRs for non-stock parts or tools as needed to support planned work.

Work with the plant group to monitor plant systems, analyze performance, and initiate action for optimization to achieve plant goals for safety, productivity, and cost effectiveness.

Train in maintenance scheduling. In some cases may need to serve as a point person for individual contractor projects.

Manage and maintain the Work Flow process (work identification, planning, scheduling, execution, and auditing).

Kit parts for daily activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.​


Qualifications Required

H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

2+ years of demonstrated experience working with industrial equipment

Proficiency in Google Suite is a plus

Ability to communicate with others in a positive and professional manner

Experience with industrial parts applications (i.e., fit and function)

Demonstrated knowledge of electrical and mechanical processes

Demonstrated knowledge of safety requirements and ability to work safely

Proficiency in the use of computers, including email correspondence

Ability to communicate, both written, and orally, in English is required

Willingness to contribute to a continuous improvement environment
