**Context/Scope:**
The Montgomery facility is one of the largest spirits manufacturing sites in the world and is tasked with providing a wide array of adult beverage products to the North American business. The Maintenance Planner is a key technical element in the Asset Care organization. The Planner is accountable for reducing equipment downtime, loss prevention, and related site costs by driving the organization to a planned proactive state using validated procedures, best in class MRO practices based on associated TRACC system. These procedures rely on the Planner to apply skilled competencies beyond the level of the maintenance technician and maintenance team lead to properly plan and coordinate workforce, parts, and materials for their assigned areas of responsibility. The individual is the liaison between Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations, developing and maintaining appropriate job plans, records, and files to permit optimal execution and analysis of all planned work done. In addition, effective planning leads to increased job satisfaction, associate engagement, and morale with the entire Maintenance organization.
**Purpose of Role:**
The Planner is the principal contact and liaison person between Maintenance, Operations, and other supported departments. In this capacity, they ensure that all internal partners of Maintenance receive timely, efficient, and quality service. With keen awareness of the partner’s situation (schedule, problems, etc.), the Planner is able to help Operations balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through pro-active maintenance. This role will also affect the physical condition of the storeroom, be responsible for making proper material movements and corrections in SAP. Problem solving and solution-based performance with a positive attitude are necessary in this demanding area. The ability to work independently toward large goals continually while maintaining day-to-day operations and reacting appropriately to requests from our customers.
In addition, the Planner is responsible for both long-range and short-range planning along with analysis of no plan vs. extensive plan jobs. Long-range planning involves the regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources. For extensive planned jobs, the planner must use their technical experience to develop comprehensive work plans encompassing safety, quality, and effectiveness of the job through analysis of technical manuals to determine proper tools and techniques. These variables must be kept in balance if a proactive maintenance environment is to be established and sustained.
**Key Outputs:**
+ Provide information and reporting for weekly and periodic Maintenance Planning meetings.
+ Participates in developing and assisting in communicating short-range and medium-range maintenance plans.
+ Review and screen maintenance requests for completeness, accuracy, necessity, priority and obtain approvals.
+ Identify the best way to accomplish maintenance jobs while limiting disruption to production through knowledge, research, consultation, and site visits.
+ Gain proficiency in Manufacturing Management Systems (MMS) to lead improvement projects related to machine uptime and availability.
+ Plan individual jobs by establishing logical steps and dependencies, provide necessary technical drawings for jobs, arrange for special tools and equipment, resource and skill requirements, OEM parts materials, special tools, and contract service requirements.
+ Prepare purchase requisitions for facility spare parts and Work Orders repairs, seek approvals as needed and monitor and expedite parts and materials delivery as needed.
+ Run stock work order Kitting area, track critical spares, Maintain Storeroom cleanliness and organization.
+ Assemble the planned job package, agree on scope with Asset Care Manager and schedule jobs for execution when all resource requirements are on site.
+ Preparation of schedules, Gantt charts and management reports for shutdowns (major and minor). Develop Planner reference systems including a file of Planned Job Packages for recurring jobs, plus labor and material libraries for each equipment center.
+ Maintain essential records and files and prepare and distributes accurate and meaningful management reports and Maintenance critical metrics
+ Interpret and provide historical equipment cost information
+ Make recommendations for system improvement
+ Establish equipment-numbering system and number all equipment
+ Analyse and develop technical PM program and procedures for each piece of equipment
+ Analyse and develop technical task list for existing & new equipment
+ Create new and ensure accuracy of current equipment bills of materials
+ Develop and maintain equipment history in the CMMS as detailed and complete as possible
+ Analyse equipment history for trends and provide technical information for recommend improvements
+ Provide cost information from equipment history
+ Keep equipment listing up to date (additions) and clean (deletions)
+ Maintain backlog up to date and clean
+ Ensure technical machine and processing drawings are revised and kept current
+ Provide technical experience for the development of annual overhaul schedule
+ Obtain agreement and publish the weekly maintenance schedules
+ Assure all jobs and work tasks are completed in accordance with Safety, Quality and Food Safety requirements.
**Qualifications and Experience Required:**
+ BA/BS in area of responsibility, preferably in engineering, or equivalent training and experience is required
+ MBA, Six Sigma and/or CMRP certifications are recommended
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing and maintenance environments
+ Knowledge of Maintenance Management and Project Management.
+ Detailed knowledge of equipment maintenance requirements and ability to describe what is to be accomplished.
+ Fluent in reading electrical, mechanical and PID prints
+ Knowledge of complex electrical, PLC, and vibration analysis systems
+ Sound Planning and estimating skills
+ Financially awareness
+ High interpersonal effectiveness to develop and sustain positive relationships with coworkers and craft mechanics alike, and strong customer service orientation
+ Good facilitation and communication skills.
+ Knowledge of Inventory Management & computerized Maintenance Management systems – SAP
+ Proficient in the use of Computer software tools (Spreadsheets, Project planning, Presentation software, Statistical Process Control, Word, Visio)
