Role Summary

The Maintenance Planner is responsible to manage the work planning and scheduling processes, conforming to company standards and world class best practices as part of an integrated operation, maintenance, and reliability team.  This role schedules maintenance work efficiently to optimize costs, resource utilization, minimize the duration of the work as well as the risks to the schedule while ensuring a safe and efficient execution of the work.  The Instrument and Maintenance Planner develops and takes ownership of maintenance work, including routine and non-routine outages to develop work scope and produce job plans reduce setup costs, and procure/specify parts prior to the work.

 

Job Accountabilities

Examine jobs in order to plan and prepare work plans and schedules that provide direction to the Instrument and Electrical function for corrective maintenance repairs, performance of preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance.  Make procurement recommendations for all materials needed for work package execution Develop, maintain, and deliver integrated maintenance schedules in support of operations Identifies and obtains necessary materials, work instructions, manuals, appropriate tools, etc. to execute the planned work order Evaluate options to accomplish work to determine most effective cost alternatives. Analyze timing options for planned work in conjunction with other departments to determine the most opportune schedule Manage work orders, from the moment they are handed over from a planner until they are scheduled for execution, and oversee the work until completion Create requisitions and order required parts for all preventive, corrective, & predictive maintenance activities as applicable Assure the scope and cost of contractor work is clearly defined, purchase orders are approved, and equipment will be available for the work performed as required Adhere to established work processes and practices when scheduling all tasks, ensuring compliance with the Control of Work processes, including permitting, isolations and risk identification, as well as other relevant Company policies and procedures. Maintain a high level of standards relating to the safe, environmentally sound, timely and cost-effective scheduling of maintenance work. Maintain an effective auditing process of completed PM.  Follow up/review completed PM for notes/improvements to ensure planning effectiveness Develop planned work, projects, and outages cost estimates and communicate actual cost accruals for accounting Work with Maintenance Supervisor to write preventative maintenance routine tasks to include frequency, durations, parts, manpower, and documentation required Assist maintenance supervisor with technical support and in the field as needed (i.e. call-ins, emergency breakdowns, routine outages, etc.) Other duties as assigned

 

 

 

Required Qualifications

Associates Degree or two (2) year technical degree in technical or business discipline

OR

High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in maintenance scheduling role in paper, chemical, petrochemical, or industrial facility Three (3) years of experience in maintenance role in paper, chemical, petrochemical, or industrial facility Knowledge and understanding of instrument and electrical maintenance processes and activities Experience with instrument and electrical maintenance management systems for record keeping and parts requirements Demonstrated ability to establish, prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks in an effective manner and meet established deadlines Solid verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Proven organizational skills Ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of Company personnel Ability to work independently and in a team environment Strong attention to detail Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to anticipate and adapt to changing situations Ability to perform tasks that include walking, climbing equipment, working within confined spaces Proven ability to speak, write and understand English language Must pass drug test, fit-for duty test and background check Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

 

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical or Engineering discipline Five (5) years of experience as an planner/scheduler utilizing a CMMS to plan and schedule maintenance Five (5) years of experience in maintenance role in paper, chemical, petrochemical or industrial facility Experience with reliability improvement methods, technologies, and tools Experience working with predictive maintenance tools Working knowledge of SAP, AutoCAD, or other drafting knowledge Knowledge/experience with 5-S, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles and waste reduction OSHA 10 hour or 30 hour certification

 

Pay Range:   $84,170.00 - $112,195.00
