The role:
Maintenance Planning Assistant
We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual to join the Planning department within Engineering. You will be responsible for carrying out various planning and administrative tasks while working closely with Planning Engineers to ensure maintenance work is planned and work packages are created to maintain British Airways fleets compliance.
You will be working with stakeholders, suppliers and customers that tasks are monitored and actioned within a timely manner and the SAP is actioned and kept up to date.
As well as the day-to-day responsibilities, we would expect you to support or own project work as required. These projects will be varied, including process continuous improvement, maintenance plans for one-off tasks, or data manipulation.
We are looking for a team player with good communication skills and the ability to cope under pressure by prioritising tasks as required. Key skills in data analysis, problem-solving, attention to detail, accuracy and auditing skills with good computer literacy are a must.
Please Note - As this is a shift-based role, flexible working cannot be considered.
What you’ll do:
Part of an effective high performing team that develops plans to deliver business requirements
• Responsible for packaging scheduled and non-scheduled tasks into appropriate and agreed de-scheduling allowances ensuring a balanced load whilst maintaining compliance
• Carries out compliance checks and ensures that issues are resolved or escalated within the team appropriately
• Provides support to the planning process under the guidance of the Planning Engineer
• Responsible for on the day control of all check documentation
• Administrative duties undertaken using initiative (or as directed when necessary), collation, analysis and interpretation of various forms of information and data. Including report production and presentation, compilation of data and statistics, inputting and updating local systems, organising, managing and participating in a range of departmental activities.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
Experience within an aircraft maintenance environment desirable
• General understanding of aircraft terminology and operation
• Prior experience of working in a busy operational environment
• Understands Engineering Business and is able to support creation of stable maintenance plans to meet business requirements
• Analytical skills to produce an optimised plan
• Proven written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative
• Proven team and people skills
Your experience:
Education to Level 2 (or educational equivalent or possesses equivalent experience
• Understanding of Compliance and Airworthiness
• Knowledge of engineering processes and procedures
• Knowledge of operational planning processes
• Good PC skills and software knowledge, especially spreadsheets
