Performs maintenance of facilities , grounds and support facilities. + Makes general repairs to buildings' interiors and exteriors, furniture, fixtures, air conditioning, heating, systems, and other mechanical and related fields such as plumbing, carp e ntry, electrical and painting tasks. + Maintains and makes general repairs to a variety of motorized equipment including tune-ups , replaces and adjusts worn or damaged parts and assembles major components to determine th e extent of damage and repairs necessary. Makes limited repairs to appliances, replaces parts and makes adjustments, etc. + Starts, operates and checks for safety and maintenance a wide variety of hand-held equipment, motori ze d vehicles, tractors, etc. + Repairs and treats structures such as fl oo rs, showers, sinks, walls, and roofs . Performs minor trou b le shooting, repairs, and adjustments of locks. 25% Equipment Operation and Control + Operates la rge equipment, vehicles, utility veh icl es, all - terrain vehicles, front-end mowers , push mowers, weed eaters, blowers, manual pumps, bulldozers, backhoes , tractors, lawnmowers, trimmers and chainsaw to carry out maintenance of the groun ds and nature trail. + Properly uses tools ranging from common hand and blower tools such as hammers, hoists, dr ills, and wrenches, to precision measurements and electron i c testing devices. + Performs routine preventive mainten ance t o ensure that machin es continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical co ndition of buildings does not deter i orate. + Utilizes attachme nts such as sweeper, loader fork, and front l oader . + Diagnos e m ec hanical problems and determine how to correct, checking bl ueprint s, repair m an u a l s, or p arts ca t a logs as nec essary.
