About Brucejack

Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Purpose

The incumbent will play a key role in providing organization and craft efficiency to the department through use of SAP. Detailed planning and scheduling techniques have been proven to reduce operating cost and improving safety performance by maximizing the maintenance effort & minimizing the impact of downtime.   

Hold safety as the top value, both in terms of personal work routines and prioritizing site safety throughout all scheduling deliverables.

Essential Duties

 

•    Work closely with the supervisors to ensure that they are clear on the timing of the tasks so they be completed without incident
•    Facilitate the weekly maintenance scheduling process through SAP for fixed asset maintenance activities, and routine meetings
•    Develop and distribute maintenance schedules on-time for review and publishing. 
•    Manage personnel capacity schedule. Interface with the logistics department to align travel  
•    With input from supervisors, track and update vacation, overtime, and timesheets
•    Coordinate contractor resourcing, travel, and onboarding, where required, to enable execution of scheduled work
•    Identify, communicate, and implement potential cost reduction and optimization initiatives
•    Maximize the proportion of work that is executed proactively and productively
•    Actively participate in continuous improvement routines in order to improve team efficiencies. 
•    Other tasks as required.

Training & Experience

 

QUALIFICATIONS


•    A diploma, or certificate related to engineering or business is preferred
•    At least 2 years experience working in the mining industry, or in fixed asset maintenance
•    At least 2 years experience working in a scheduling or project administration function

 

SKILLS


•    Proficient in usage of SAP, Microsoft Office Applications, and general computer navigation
•    Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
•    Detail and process oriented. Has a working knowledge of work management principles
•    Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management

Working Conditions

 

•    Work independently from home, with capability to travel to the Brucejack mine-site on a limited basis for training and team alignment.
•    Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening

The expected salary range for this role is CA$81,000-$90,000 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
