Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
 
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario  The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role

Position: Maintenance Short Term Scheduler

Schedule: Shift 7/7 – 12 hour days and nights

Position Reports To: Senior Mobile Maintenance Planner

 

 

Position Overview

The role of the Short Term Planner is to organize and influence the safe and efficient delivery of reliability centered maintenance practices and programs for the mining fleet. A specific focus will be working with the maintenance crew to organize and execute the weekly maintenance plan and day to day maintenance activities. All work will be coordinated in a safe, productive manner and in accordance with New Gold’s policies and procedures including cultural, safety and environmental conformance.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Interpreting the weekly maintenance plan and coordinating the execution with the Maintenance Supervisor in an environmentally conscious and productive manner. Making every effort to meet or exceed the availability and reliability targets for the mobile fleet. Focusing on maintenance plans and practices in the 1 day to 3 week space. Communicate with the Mine Dispatch to understand ongoing break in work and allocate appropriate resources according to priorities. Communicate with the Mine Dispatch to schedule in timing of planned work. Maintain the down time codes, statuses and ETA up times on Wenco maintenance monitor. Create work orders for break in work and found work. Assist in implementation and monitoring of Readyline software. Review daily pre-trip checklists, create WO’s and allocate resources for P1 and P2 WO’s accordingly. Attending Daily 24h maintenance planning meeting. Attending weekly progress meeting Monday morning with planners. Attending weekly planning meeting Thursday morning with planners. Reviewing the completed WO’s and PM’s for completeness. Close out P1 and P2 WO’s with appropriate information. Coordinate part and material requirements with warehouse. Complete shift close out report and crossover with incoming planner and maintenance supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

3 or more years experience within heavy equipment industry. Ability to read and interpret OEM schematics and Operation and Maintenance documents. Experience with using SAP-PM or similar CMMS and MS Excel. Experience with WENCO dispatch system (particularly maintenance monitor) or similar. A collaborative team player committed to developing themselves and others. Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems. Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently. Excellent safety record. Valid Driver's License. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling concepts, practices, scheduling tools and techniques. Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and immediate changes in priorities. Customer service orientation at all levels of the organization. High level of integrity and accountability. Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills with internal and external contacts. Ability to work with all levels of the organization. Excellent software skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
