This role involves working in various locations, including beaches, shorelines, coastal areas, and other designated sites. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in creating enjoyable and safe recreational spaces for our community to enjoy. Duties and Responsibilities + Perform routine maintenance tasks, including trash removal, restroom cleaning, litter collection, and landscape upkeep such as mowing and pruning. + Conduct minor repairs and assist with the collection and deposit of payments from pay machines, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality. + Communicate park operations and maintenance issues to supervisors, and assist in supervising community service workers, inmates, or volunteers assigned to the area. + Inspect, maintain, and repair playgrounds, park signage, and other amenities to ensure the safety and cleanliness of all beach parks, preserves, and boat ramps. + Provide exceptional customer service by assisting park patrons and visitors, answering questions, and supplying information as needed. + Responsible for unlocking and opening facilities at the start of the day, as well as securing and locking up facilities at closing time. + Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall maintenance and operation of park facilities. Education, Experience, Licensing + Requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED and six months maintenance or closely related experience. + Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required. Supplemental Information + Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs. + Proficient in the safe operation of hand tools and small equipment. + Capable of performing basic mathematical calculations. + Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy when interacting with the public. + Ability to identify and report equipment malfunctions. + Competent in performing basic maintenance on hand tools and small equipment. + Knowledgeable in the environmentally safe handling of cleaning supplies. + The work days and hours may vary to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
