Job description
The primary mission of DBIS is to provide quality service to our individuals in a professional and caring manner.
A Maintenance Specialist is responsible for keeping a facility and residential property operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Specialist will usually be required to perform various repair tasks around a facility. Some other tasks a Maintenance Specialist may be called upon to do include:
Maintenance Worker Responsibilities:
· Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
· Performing preventative maintenance.
· Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
· Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
· Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
· Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
· Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
· Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
· Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped
Maintenance Worker Requirements:
· Proven maintenance experience.
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· Related degree from a technical college.
· Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
· Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
· Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
· Ability to use standard tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
· Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
· Experience performing routine maintenance.
· Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
· Eye for detail.
· Professional presentation and attitude.
· Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
· Strong time management skills.
