Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Maintenance Group Supervisor must be able to perform all aspects of the maintenance function

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Follow current work instructions. Trouble shoot, repair, replace and upgrade machinery.
Plan, layout and repair equipment, diagnose problems, disassembly, replace parts, assembly, test and adjust.
Complete all necessary paperwork on activities to support preventive maintenance program.
Conduct general housekeeping to ensure cleanliness of area.
Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner.
Wear proper personal protective equipment.
Train other employees when assigned by Supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Assist Co-workers
Make minor maintenance adjustments to machines with proper training when instructed by Supervisor.

 

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Ability to read and understand work rules, orders, instructions and all safety requirements.
Prepare and complete paperwork legibly and accurately.
Math skill including addition, subtraction, averaging, percentages and proportions.
Read prints, drawings and schematics.
Knowledge of mechanical operations.
Operation of gears, gear boxes and speed reducers.
Knowledge of bearing types and the replacement of bearings and cams.
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Ability to operate necessary equipment and machinery to perform quality job.
Ability to use all available and necessary measuring devices and tools.
Oral and written communications skills in English.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
Must be able to lift 60lbs.
Manufacturing/ Industrial work environment
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
