Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision and coordination of the maintenance department functions and programs. Directs and coordinates support services. Training and development of its employees.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Assists in interviews and hiring processesOrientates and trains maintenance personnelCoaches counsel employees, and initiates discipline as requiredEvaluates the performance of subordinatesDevelops and implements preventative and other maintenance programs to ensure proper equipment operationIdentifies, researches, and resolves problemsCoordinates maintenance activities with the operating department's requirementsLeads employees in continuous improvement and safety initiativesPerforms regular/preventative maintenance on all machinery, tools, and buildingsDevelops, implements, and supervises the plant’s Preventive Maintenance programRepairs machinery, equipment, buildings, and other Company assets in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturing specifications, or by management requestOrders supplies and parts as required, at competitive pricing and ratesMaintains records of repair/maintenance activities, per Company policyPrepares other reports as requiredPerforms duties consistent with established safety rules and proceduresPerforms other duties as required


Qualifications

Post-high school education is requiredMinimum 3 to 5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance area; 1 to 3 years of experience managing peopleWorking knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and weldingWorking knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulationsDemonstrate working knowledge of hazardous wage and hazardous material handling procedures and practicesWorking knowledge of the use of precision tools, measuring instruments, and other hand toolsWorking knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business softwarePreferred understanding of company policies, practices, and proceduresMust be at least 18 years of age
