Maintenance Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the company's equipment, building, and surrounding grounds. This role operates as the tactical arm for our Productive Maintenance, working to minimize interruptions to production and striving every day to be a world-class manufacturing center. The Maintenance Supervisor coordinates the installation, repair, and maintenance of facilities and production equipment, ensuring all maintenance and safety standards are upheld.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise an organization qualified to maintain all equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient working condition. Execute an effective productive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled downtime.

Schedule work and tasks for the team, manage priorities in concert with the Engineering Manager, and develop training for the team.

Evaluate, coach, counsel, and train members of the team.

Identify and develop periodic maintenance processes for all equipment. Review and amend regularly.

Maintain all operating equipment in satisfactory condition. Schedule needed repair to have minimum interference. Equipment to include:

Automated Production and Packaging Equipment (production lines, machining equipment, etc.)

Ancillary support equipment (pumps, saws, etc.)

Facility support equipment (HVAC, Plumbing, etc.)

Monitoring Equipment (Fire systems, EMS, Security, etc.)

Oversees work done by contractors to meets applicable standards,

Analyze cost studies of proposals for new facilities and equipment in the department designed to secure reduced operating costs. Make recommendations to the Engineering Manager.

Manages the inspections, testing, and certifications equipment to prevent and/or contain fires and to comply with state and local codes.

Oversees building and grounds maintenance and repairs, including conducting visual inspections and tests to maintain operating integrity 

Complies with company policies; work rules; safety requirements; quality standards; and applicable local, state, and federal legislation

Performs other related duties as needed and assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting.

2+ years of experience in planning, organizing, and directing a team in maintenance, engineering, or continuous improvement.

Experience with environmental compliance and safety regulations.

Hands-on experience with the installation, repair, and maintenance of facilities and production equipment.

Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry tasks.

Strong safety and compliance skills to ensure adherence to regulations and standards.

Ability to read and interpret product, process, and tooling prints.

Ability to make critical decisions in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Strong bias for action and proactive problem-solving skills.

Ability to teach and mentor others, proven experience improving the overall skill set of associates

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master Electrician License

Prior experience in the plumbing industry.

Experience in risk analysis (FMEA)

8 years of experience in maintenance or a related field with a background in engineering and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

A balance of technical, human relations, and conceptual skills required to achieve results through subordinate supervision.

Proven experience in teaching and mentoring to improve associates' skills.

Understanding of equipment effectiveness analysis, capacity utilization, and TPM programs.

COMPETENCIES:

Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for listening and teaching.

Ability to drive change and seek out best practices.

Knowledge of lean tools for problem-solving and driving improvements.

Initiative and flexibility to find creative methods to solve problems
